Addiction & Recovery

Mind Mirror was built with the recovery community in mind. While journaling is a powerful tool for self-awareness, it is not a substitute for professional help.

Why we built this for recovery

Recovery requires brutal honesty. It requires spotting the subtle rationalizations and blind spots that precede a slip. We built Mind Mirror because traditional journaling, while helpful, often leaves us talking in circles.

The AI Overseer is designed to reflect back the patterns you might be missing. When you tag an entry with "addiction-recovery," the AI is prompted to look for specific cognitive distortions—minimization, projection, or resentment—that often accompany the recovery process.

Using Mind Mirror in your program

Many users incorporate Mind Mirror into their existing recovery programs (like 12-step programs, SMART Recovery, or CBT):

  • Step 4 / 10 Inventories: Use the journal to track daily resentments and fears, letting the AI highlight recurring themes.
  • Trigger Tracking: Document cravings and the events leading up to them. The Overseer can help identify the underlying emotional states.
  • Therapy Prep: Use your weekly AI summaries to guide conversations with your sponsor or therapist.

Remember: Mind Mirror is a mirror, not a doctor. It is a tool to enhance your self-awareness, best used alongside a robust support system.
