Privacy Policy

Mind Mirror is built on trust. Your journal is a private space, and our data practices reflect that. This policy describes exactly what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

Data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the Mind Mirror service:

  • Account information: Your email address and name (managed via Clerk authentication).
  • Journal entries: The text content and tags of your entries, stored securely in our PostgreSQL database.
  • AI conversation history: The messages exchanged between you and the Overseer AI.
  • Billing information: Subscription status and history. We do not store your credit card details; payments are processed securely by Stripe (web) or Apple/Google (mobile).
  • Usage data: Writing streaks, entry counts, and AI usage quotas (used solely for billing and feature limits, not for behavioral analytics).
  • Timezone: Sent via your browser to reset your daily quotas at your local midnight.

How we use your data

Your data is used strictly to power the Mind Mirror experience:

  • Your journal entries are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate reflections and power the Overseer conversation. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models, per their API data policy.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data or journal content.
  • We do not run advertising in the app.
  • We do not use analytics trackers, pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics tools.
  • We use structured server logs (via Pino) for error monitoring only. These logs are explicitly configured to exclude journal content, bearer tokens, and cookies.

Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual entries at any time within the app. If you choose to delete your account, all associated data—including entries, reflections, conversations, and billing records—is permanently removed from our active databases.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Mind Mirror:

  • Clerk: For secure user authentication.
  • Anthropic: For AI processing and reflection generation.
  • Stripe: For web payment processing.
  • Apple / Google: For mobile payment processing (via RevenueCat).
  • Hostinger: For hosting this marketing website.

Your rights

You have full control over your data. You can:

  • Access, correct, or delete your data at any time through the app interface.
  • Export your journal entries (this feature is currently in development and coming soon).
  • Contact us with any privacy concerns at support@dyeverse.co.

Children's privacy

Mind Mirror is not intended for or directed at users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you via email or through an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
